As our world becomes smaller in the 21st century, is our way of life redefining our sense of 'home' as something that we might carry only in our minds or in our spirits?
In this body of work I photograph families where one member or more is a foreign migrant (of any nationality) who has chosen to make Australia their new home. The common motif of a personal item from their homeland, carried with them through their journey, connects their past and present.
This work is a celebration of all migrants - past, present and future.
